A 64-year-old pedestrian was knocked down at a dangerous crossing in West Ealing today.

The man was involved in a road traffic collision at the Lido Junction - the notorious crossing at the corner of Uxbridge Road and Northfields Avenue - at about 1.30pm on Friday (20).

A telephone watchdog part of Ofcom has assured that a postal scam threatening to leave residents £315 out of pocket no longer poses a risk.

Phonepay Plus, the regulator of premium rate telephone services in the UK and an agency of Ofcom, said it shut down the company behind the scam in 2005.
