A man who has been saving lives in the capital for over two decades has been awarded the Queen's Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct.

Hanwell paramedic Tim Wilkinson (42) was presented with his certificate and medal at a ceremony in Westminster on Thursday September 11.

Mr Wilkinson started working for the London Ambulance Service in 1988 and has recently completed 20 years of service.

He is currently Acting Duty Station Officer for Hanwell which involves providing management support to the stations of Hanwell, Greenford and Chiswick.

He said: "I enjoy all aspects of the job, meeting the public, the unexpected challenges and making a difference. It's really good to be recognised for this through the long service award."
