West Ealing Station Oyster Delay
A WOMAN has blasted First Great Western (FGW) over how it has managed plans to implement Oyster Cards at West Ealing station.
Thalia Reid contacted the Gazette expressing anger at the rail operator's "shambolic running" of the station in Drayton Green Road.
She said that following an announcement from Transport For London in May, commuters were promised the Oyster pre-pay service from September 2008.
Mrs Reid contacted FGW about using Oyster cards at West Ealing but was then told she would have to wait another few months in order to wait for the power to be installed.
She said: "If they're going to make up something at least make it more believeable. Although perhaps they're just too used to negative publicity to care. I won't even get started on the lack of a Sunday service."
After sending an email to FGW on September 2, she received a reply from customer services advisor Lewis Gale, who said: "I regret that the Oyster card roll-out has not yet commenced. This is due to ongoing discussions between ourselves and Transport for London.
"It is planned for Autumn 2008 though and commencing dates will be advertised locally."
