A man was assaulted in broad daylight just before Sunday afternoon.
Police cordoned off Elers Road at the corner of Culmington Road, West Ealing, at around 12pm after a man in his thirties was assaulted.
A neighbour who was passing the area at 2pm, said: "There were lots of police outside and the area was marked out.
"There was blood on the floor; it looks very serious."
An ambulance crew was sent to the scene where they treated the 30-year-old man suffering facial injuries before he was taken to hospital.
