Hanwell high school top in first aid course
A high school has taken part in a national first aid competition and has come out on top form.
Pupils of Drayton Manor High School in Drayton Bridge Road, took part in a St John Ambulance national first aid competition where they treated nose-bleeds, shock and burns during a mock emergency scenario set at Scout Park, Bounds Green.
They will now go through to the final which will be held on June 23 at the Natural History Museum.
A total of 18 junior and senior schools took part and Mark Squirrell, Assistant Commissioner (Youth) for St John Ambulance, said: "This was a great event and saw some fantastic skills demonstrated by the young people.
"We always say you're never too young to learn first aid and these pupils are proof of that."
