A FIGHT in a pub which spilled out into the street left a man in hospital with a stab wound
.

A witness working nearby, who asked not to be named, said a barmaid brandishing a chair chased three thugs out of the Black George pub in Uxbridge Road, West Ealing.

He said: "Two young guys and a middle-aged man came out of the pub, one of the young guys was bleeding but I didn't see the knife.

"There were two police officers across the road, a man and a woman. The policewoman stopped and talked to the two young guys as they reached their car parked around the corner in Broughton Road. Then they drove off.

"The policeman went after the other guy but I don't know if he found him."

The disturbance took place at about 9.30pm last Thursday (7), police say a 30-year-old white man was stabbed in the chest outside the pub. The knife punctured his lung but he is now in a stable condition in hospital.

A barmaid at the Black George, who also asked not to be named said: "I didn't see it but two guys came in from the street and started a fight with a customer.

"One of the two guys got stabbed but I don't know if that was in here or elsewhere.

"One of the two guys was pulling his friend out of the pub and they were still arguing outside. The police were across the road and I don't know what happened after that.

"Nothing like this has ever happened before."

Police say the knifeman is white about 30 years old and 5ft 10ins.
