Car boot sale in Hanwell

People are invited to a car boot sale at a school on Saturday March 27.

Oaklands Primary School, Oaklands Road, will be hosting the car boot sale in the playground from 1-3pm and there will be refreshments on sale throughout the event.

The Hanwell Carnival organisers are looking for people interested in taking part in the procession for the very special 50th jubilee taking place on June 19th.

The procession will pass through the centre of Hanwell and people are urged to get in touch for the possibility to publicise their club, group or business.

The search is on to find a special Queen and Princess for the 50th Jubilee celebrations of the Hanwell Carnival.

Competing for the chance to be crowned the Hanwell Carnival Queen and Princess, girls aged 11-17 will also be given John Lewis vouchers worth £50 and £25 and be pampered for the day.

Barn Dance in Hanwell

A barn dance and evening of fun will take place on Saturday February 27 in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care - Ealing nurse appeal.

There will be music from Laurel Swift and '8 Bars Short' as well as nibbles, soft drinks, bring your own beer/wine and steps for barn dance will be called out from the front.

A weekly drop-in surgery to keep people informed of the Green Man Lane Estate regeneration has been moved from the Jubilee Community Centre to the Green Man Lane Community Centre on the estate.

The surgeries will take place every Monday between 9am-12noon and on Wednesdays between 5pm- 7pm.

A weekly drop-in surgery is being launched for Green Man Lane Estate residents to help keep them up-to-date with the proposed regeneration of the blocks.

From February 1, A2 Dominion Housing group, in partnership with Rydon will be on hand to answer queries on the planning application submission.

A primary school will be lighting up the day during a Christmas fair featuring fire-breathing magic and snow.

Oaklands Primary School are excited to announce Circus Magic, who will be dazzling everyone with their live fire show including fire-eating, breathing, dancing and juggling.

The Hanwell carnival which is due to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year is calling former carnival queens and princesses to get in touch.

In preparation for the golden jubilee, the organisers wish to contact all the girls who took part stretching back to the 60s.

The latest draft masterplan for the regeneration of the Green Man Lane estate will be available for public view and comment this weekend at Jubilee Hall, at the top of Green Man Lane, West Ealing.

Members of the public, particularly residents of the estate, neighbours and local stakeholders, are invited to come and view the plan and to give their feedback on the work done so far. 

Refreshments will be available. 

Current plans for the project will see the phased demolition of the 464 homes on the estate and 346 new properties built for affordable rent and 91 for shared ownership.  A further 309 homes are being planned and will be available to buy outright. 

In addition to providing new homes and community facilities, the redevelopment is aimed at linking the estate more effectively to West Ealing town centre and contributing to the regeneration of the wider area and community.
